Lessons

We cater for a wide range of riders from the complete beginner to the more experienced, including private horse owners. Our instructors are extremely knowledgeable and hold not only various BHS qualifications, but also as experienced horse owners they have competed in many equestrian disciplines to a high level.

Thus, we can confidently say that they practice what they preach.
We can offer lessons in showjumping, dressage, cross-country, showing or even mounted games.
However, if you just want to have fun and learn to be safe and competent on or around horses then Barguse is the place to learn.

We strongly believe riding must be enjoyable and we pride ourselves in having knowledgeable, yet approachable instructors who can help you achieve your individual aims.

We have a wide range of horses and ponies from 11.2hh to 16.2hh that are suitable for every size and ability of rider. To cater for our more experienced riders, we have a selection of good quality horses that can help with more specialised training.

We also welcome the private horse owner who wishes to improve their own horse or just have a helping hand before a competition.

We operate Monday to Saturday and are open late until 8pm Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. To make a booking, please contact the office on 01208 831817.

Hacking

We do offer hacking up to Helman Tor and the surrounding areas but in order to comply with our insurance it would be necessary to have an assessment lesson to be able to see your riding ability and competence level.

Please note that some road work is involved. Prices are subject to number of riders and length of ride.
