Christmas Fun Show Sunday 12th Dec
We are looking forward to a fun filled event on the 12th! We have a wide range of classes including a fancy dress class and as well as rosettes, there will be novelty prizes and polos to the winning horses! The dress is informal and we positively encourage fancy dress !
This show is also a qualifier for the David Broome Winter Championships (qualification subject to rules).

Christmas Gymkhana

- Don’t really want to have to drag the kids with you!
Then drop them off here for a morning of games, riding & fun!
This morning runs from 10 – 2pm & is open to riders of all abilities (incl ones on the lead rein). Riders will arrive to help get their ponies in & ready for the main event, the CHRISTMAS GYMKHANA!
 This is a long standing tradition at Barguse where the riders get to do lots of festive games on the ponies and have huge amounts of fun at the same time! There are rosettes for all the teams and novelty prizes for the best fancy dress! To finish the morning there will be a special visit from Father Christmas who has kindly taken time out of his busy schedule to pop in to the Barguse grotto! The cost of the morning is £17.50 including a small gift from Santa! If you have a sister or brother who would also like to see Santa then this can be arranged at £3 including a small gift as well!
This event is always extremely popular so please book in early!
Christmas Opening Hours
We are closed for riding lessons from the 25th-28th December and the 1st-3rd January.
As New Year falls on a Saturday we are moving our Saturday Club to Friday 31st December. It runs as normal from 10am -2pm and is the same format and cost. Please book in at the office.

Richard Waygood Jumping Clinic
The next clinic will run on Sunday 16th January 2011. We have had a lot of interest in this clinic and are expecting it to be over subscribed. If you would like a place please book in as early as possible. Please note your place will only be confirmed once payment has been received.
Richard Waygood Lecture & Demo
Richard will be giving a lecture/demo on Saturday 19th February.
The evening will focus on training the event horse in all three disciplines with education and fun being the top priority! Starting at 7pm. Tickets cost £15 in advance or £20 on the door. Tickets are available to purchase now. A jumping clinic with Richard will follow on Sunday 20th February.
Barguse Clear Round Day
Sunday 9th January 2011 is our popular clear round day and its back! Your chance to get going for the New Year and have a go at all those scary fillers or just get your horse out for some exercise. The schedule can be found on our events page
Unaffiliated Dressage Evening
Friday 14th Jan 2011
Our dressage competitions kick off again on the 14th. However, due to the amount of late entries we have been receiving there will be an additional charge of £1 if we do not receive your entry by the closing date. We are happy to take late entries but it obviously creates more work! This late entry fee also applies to riders who put in an entry but do not pay until the actual event.
So make your New Year Resolution to be more organised!
Horseowner’s certificate level one
This will be starting in January and will run on a Tuesday night . If you would like to join in please contact the office. Further details on this course can be found on the website.
Dressage academy
This will run during the Christmas holidays during the day. Please contact the office for the time and date. The cost will remain as before.
Please note this is aimed at the junior riders who have attained a certain level of experience and wish to develop their ability in this discipline.
