BadgesSeptember Newsletter

Welcome to our September newsletter. This month sees us relaxing, drawing breath and getting ready for the winter season!! August was unbelievably busy with camps, training clinics and the finale of our summer competition series!! The weather was kinder than it has been in previous summers’ which was a bonus. It’s not much fun having 30 children under canvas in a monsoon!!

However, we do have a clear round day to keep everyone entertained in mid September and the schedule will go up in the next few days on the events calendar.

In the meantime, enjoy the last of the light summer nights and the mud free fields!

Clear Round Jumping

A clear round jumping day will run on the 18th September. These are always really popular and give riders and horses of all abilities the opportunity to have a jump round a course with no pressure involved. The jumps will start very small so you can even run round with a leader and will incorporate fillers in the later courses for those who want more of a challenge.
It’s an ideal training ground for young horses or those who just want to exercise their horses and at £2 a round or £3 for a rosette should appeal to most people’s pockets!!
The schedule will appear on the events calendar in the next few days.

Championships

Our summer competition series ended in August and the following people took the various Championships and awards.
Sue Trudgian and Max won the Senior Dressage Championship in convincing style.
Donna Long and Mr R took the junior dressage championship having led the table from the start, beating herself on her other pony, Starlight by just one point! Abi Glencross and Tessie ‘orse took the award for highest dressage score of the series by clinching the final class of the series with 85%.

The senior jumping championship was won by one of our own instructors, Celena Wolfe on Tober Dubalay and the Junior Jumping Championship was won by Poppy Joshi and Spirit who were way ahead of any other competition!

Our winter dressage series starts in October and there will be various schooling and jumping competitions throughout the winter.

All of us at Pony Club Camp

Barguse Pony Club Camp

Pony Club Camp this year was hugely popular with more riders participating each year and coming from further afield to take part. It’s great to see so many old and new faces! It’s thanks to our great staff and volunteer parents that we are able to put the event on each year and I cannot express my heartfelt gratitude enough. We have lots of new members to put up on the pony club members page but we’re missing some profiles so please could you get those into me so we know a little bit more about you!!

The Spoilt Horse Company

Finally, we have now got a dedicated facebook page for our tack shop which will give details regarding special offers and new items coming in. (http://www.facebook.com/SpoiltHorseCompany)
We will also regularly review products that we have in store and give you the low down on each one. However, what we want to know is whether in future our newsletter subscribers would rather have a separate tack shop newsletter to subscribe too or to combine it with the present one. Please let us know your thoughts by e-mailing us on info@barguseridingcentre.co.uk
Thank you!!

Michael Beining

International German dressage trainer Michael Beining will be next here to give a clinic on 12th – 14th October.
The last clinic was rather oversubscribed so if you would like a session please let me know as soon as possible.

Richard Waygood

International event trainer, Richard Waygood has just given another successful jumping clinic on the 4th September here at Barguse. These clinics are always hugely popular and in winter particularly so with people wanting to push their horses on in their training.

Richard will be next giving a clinic on Sunday 9th October so if you would like a session please let me know. Regular clinic riders will be given priority!!

Adult Saturday Club

We have been toying with the idea of starting an adults club similar to our Saturday Club that we run for the children. It will operate during the middle of the day during the week and we are just finalising the last details regarding the price and times. However, it will be cheaper than our normal lesson prices.
There will be a dedicated page on our website though we are trying to think of an appropriate name for the Club so any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Not only will it give people the opportunity to have a go at riding whether starting the sport for the first time or getting back into it but will also give riders the chance to socialise and meet up and have a cup of tea and a chat with like- minded people. Keep an eye on both our facebook page and website for the latest developments or alternatively, e-mail me and I will let you know when the new Club kicks off.
